Thuy Nguyen


Nguyen Thuy

Since 1994, Nguyen Thuy is a Senior Research Engineer at the Research & Development Division of EDF (Electricité de France) based in Chatou, France. He leads a research team on the dependability and safety of digital instrumentation and control systems important to the safety of nuclear and non-nuclar power stations. This team also provides technical support for the Engineering Division and the Operations Division of EDF. Nguyen Thuy is an active member of several international standards working groups, in particular of SC45A (Nuclear Reactor Instrumentation) and SC65A (System Aspects of Industrial-Process Measurement and Control) of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). He is also a frequent contributor to the Nuclear Power Plant Control and Instrumentation Technical Working Group of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Prior to his current position at EDF, he was Senior Software Architect and Senior Project Manager in various technical domains including Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM), real-time systems and compilation systems. Nguyen Thuy is a graduate from Ecole Polytechnique (1972) and Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (1976). He has 40 years of experience in software and digital systems engineering.
